The PPL Foundation helps to provide a margin of excellence for the Pittsylvania County Public Library System in order to offer enhanced programs and services to our community. Established as a 501(c)3 corporation in 1983, the primary purpose of the Foundation is to engage in charitable and educational fundraising activities and distribute such funds to the Library. Members of the Foundation board are elected by members of the Pittsylvania County Public Library Board of Trustees.
The Foundation encourages gifts in support of the library’s services and programs. You may also donate when you file your Virginia state income taxes through a check-off box on the form. Make checks payable to:

Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Pittsylvania County Public Library is a group of volunteers that provides financial support to Pittsylvania County libraries. Friends groups support each of the library’s branches. They provide funding to assist with programs and services such as the Summer Reading Program.
Friends can help make the difference between a good library and a great library. Our dues structure is one of the lowest around, but becoming a dues-paying member of the Friends can make a big impact. To become a member, visit your local branch location or download the application below.
Download a Friends of the Library application if you would like to join this important group of library supporters.
We often have opportunities available to volunteer with our library. If you are interested, please talk to the branch manager at the library you use. Our application form links can be found below.
