We offer programs and events for Teens during the school year as well as our annual Summer Reading Program. Click on your local PCPL location below to learn more about what's happening at a library near you!

- Beginner Crochet- June 9th & 23rd- Learn the beginning steps of crochet with one of our skilled teachers!
- Outdoor Movie- June 12th, 8:30pm- Join us to watch Jurassic Park on the outdoor movie screen! Popcorn and drinks will be provided. This is a public space with picnic tables as well as grass, so feel free to bring chairs or a blanket. Intended for ages 13+.
- Cricut Craft- June 18th, 6:00pm- Bring a blank T-Shirt and join us to create fun Cricut T-Shirt designs!
- Job Interview Skill Builder- 7/2, By Appointment (Grades 9-12)
Entering the job market, or just looking for helpful tips? Call ahead to make an appointment with a staff member for a mock interview. Interested in retro games like Nintendo and Sega? Join us as we play your favorite nostalgic games. - Pipe Cleaner Florals- 7/16, 11:00am or 6:00pm
Come create a bouquet of flowers using pipe cleaners. We will learn step by step how to make different flowers. - 3D Print Workshop- 7/16, 4:00pm

- Needlework Group – Monday, June 8 at 10:00 am -12:00 pm
Do you like to crochet, knit or do any kind of needle work? Drop in with your own supplies and projects. Share tips, project ideas, and learn new skills with new friends, while working on your project. All levels are welcome. - Teens Paint Pouring Thursday, June 11 at 3:00 – 4:00 pm
A hands-on, beginner friendly “fluid art” workshop where participants creat abstract art by pouring acrylic paint mixed with a pouring medium onto canvas. - Mini Canvas Art Contest begins Monday, June 8 and the last day to return Mini Canvas Art Paintings is Friday, June 18
Our mini canvas art contest is a community engagement program where patrons receive a free, small canvas (3x3) to create a masterpiece. Patrons are given choice to take home a canvas to paint or attend one of our mini canvas painting sessions. - Public Voting for Mini Canvas Art begins Monday, June 22 and ends Friday, July 10

Participants will create a custom tie-dyed book tote. - Teens Art: Eraser Pointillism Thursday, June 25 at 3:00 – 4:00 pm
Participants will create images by applying small dots of color to paper using the eraser ends of pencils - Teens: Perler Beads Thursday, July 9 at 3:00 – 4:00 pm
Design pixel art using plastic beads on pegboards. Participants can follow templates or create original designs, which staff then melt with an iron to create permanent, durable items. - Friday, July 10 - Mini Canvas Art Contest voting ends

The Bad Guys 2 (2025) is an animated action-comedy where the reformed crew—Mr. Wolf, Snake, Shark, Piranha, and Ms. Tarantula—are forced out of retirement for a high-stakes, globe-trotting heist. They are hijacked by a new all-female criminal team, "The Bad Girls," threatening their new lives as "good guys"

June 2: Dino Trinket Dish. Create a cool trinket to hold your precious items, using a dinosaur that you will paint.
June 9: Tween Book Talk (Grades 6-8). Bring a friend and discuss your favorite books that you have recently read. A great way to find your next best read, and snacks are provided!
June 16: Dino Eyes. We will be sculpting dinosaur eyes using air dry clay.
June 23: Teen Book Talk (Grades 9-12). Bring a friend and discuss your favorite recently read books. Snacks provided!

Meets one Saturday each month to take something old and create something new! This month you can bring recyclable items and use the provided items as well to build a dinosaur of your own design. July 7: Blooming Poems & Dirt Cups. We will be creating poetry using origami and making a snack.
July 14: Tween Book Talk (Grades 6-8). Bring a friend and discuss your favorite books that you have recently read. A great way to find your next best read, and snacks are provided!July 21: Faux Insect Taxidermy. We will be painting fake bugs and attaching them to a round disc in taxidermy fashion.

Explora -- Explore hundreds of topics in thousands of magazines, encyclopedias, journals, and videos. EBSCO Explora is a great resource to find articles and information for school reports, projects, and more. Provided by the Library of VA.
Homework HelpNow -- Connect LIVE with a certified tutor, seven days a week between 2 and 11 pm, for help with assignments and research, including math, reading, writing, science, social studies, and more! Submit papers to a tutor in the Writing Lab for constructive feedback or take practice exams and create your own flashcards to prepare for tests. Tutoring is available in English and Spanish.
Transparent Language -- Transparent Language Online offers in-depth, self-paced classes that focus on reading, writing, listening, and speaking over +140 languages. Courses include various Indigenous languages, ASL, and ESL/ELL materials in 34 languages. Provided by the Library of VA.
