Get the “scoop” on Summer Reading at our Summer Reading kick-off. All Ages can read, attend activities and win prizes all Summer with our Summer Reading Program. Stop by the library on May 20th for a scoop of ice cream while you sign up for Summer Reading!

Can you find all of the April Fool’s Jokes scattered in the library? If you find them all, you can win a prize! - Community Career Day, April 3, 11:00am- 1:00pm
Come to the library to meet local community members and learn about their career. Meet people like a small business owner, firefighter, environmental educator, and even a therapy dog! Afterwards, take a break with a coloring station & snack. - Button Bouquet, April 3, 6:00pm

A paper squishy is a handmade squishy toy made from paper! Join us as we create Paper Squishy Easter Eggs. - Cup Decorating, April 17, 4:30pm
Ages 12+ can join us as we use UV DTF transfers to decorate drinking cups. All materials are provided. - Clay Bunny, April 24, 4:00pm
Mr. Daniel will be leading a clay class where participants can make a bunny figurine from clay. - Snack Club, May 8, 4:30 pm

Tuesday, April 22, 2025, 2:00 pm-5:00 pm
Earth Day is the perfect time to celebrate Spring and go outside as a community for a Clean Up Day. Many hands make light work, and you’ll see results quickly when everyone pitches in. Bring rakes, shovels, and other yard work tools to help tidy up around the library in anticipation of the final push to get our new tiered outdoor area ready for the warmer months. - Tiny Art Show – Monday, April 7th-Saturday, April 12th
Create your own tiny masterpiece for our Tiny Art Show! This free program is open to all ages and skill levels; drop in anytime from April 1st-4th to pick up a tiny canvas to create a tiny artwork to exhibit during the Tiny Art Show or join us for a Tiny Art Session to create your masterpiece at the library. Tiny Art Sessions will be held on Tuesday, April 1st at 4:00 pm and Thursday, April 3rd at 11:00 am. The theme is Drawn to the Library. All Art must be turned into the Chatham Library by Saturday, April 5th.The Tiny Art Show will be exhibited at the library during the National Library Week, April 7th-12th. Public will vote on “Best in Show”!The library reserves the right to exclude any works.

Patrons of all ages are welcome to join us for a morning of Bingo. Win a game, pick a book as your prize! - Card Making with Mayra – Saturday, April 5th, 1:00 pm
Join Mayra Cordero to learn to craft beautiful handmade cards. $5 charge per card for provided supplies. This program is best suited for adults & teens. - Novelty Yarns – 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, 2:00-4:00.
April Focus: Embroidery Come to the Chatham Library yarn club to meet like-minded craft enthusiasts! Bring your projects, exchange tips, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow yarn lovers. - Friday Paws – Friday, April 11th & 25th, 3:00-4:30 pm
On the second and fourth Friday each month, children are invited to practice their reading skills by sharing a book with a furry friend. Reading to therapy dogs can help improve kids' confidence in their reading abilities as well as help with emotional and social skills. Drop-in between 3:00 to 4:30 pm to give your child an opportunity to practice their reading skills one-on-one with a trained therapy dog. - Take and Make Cricut Craft – Monday, April 14, all day While supplies last, take home a Cricut craft kit! Craft kits are for teens and adults. Limit 2 per person. Everything is provided except the glue and optional extras. Instructions for the video are included in the kit.

New to Line Dance? Come learn the basics with easy, step-by-step instruction! You'll dance to a wide mix of music—from Old Standards and Country to Latin, Rock-n-Roll, Hip Hop, and today’s top hits. Along the way, you'll get familiar with the unique vocabulary and signature moves of Line Dance, all while boosting your balance, footwork, cardio health, and stamina. - Mother’s Day Movie Trivia Bingo – Tuesday, May 6th, 6:00 pm
Join Chatham Library for a special Mother's Day Trivia Night featuring some of the most iconic and beloved movie and TV moms! - Take and Make Cricut Craft – Monday, May 19th, all day

Reading Paws is an interactive reading program designed for children and teens. Children practice basic reading aloud skills by pairing up with a specially trained volunteer dog. Books are provided or children can bring their favorite story along for fun and learning! - Teen Mayhem - Tuesday, April 8 and May 13 at 3:00 – 4:30 pm
Do you enjoy drawing, sketching, writing, and creating original content? Join this teen creative hangout where teens come together to brainstorm and create original works, ask creative questions and work on personal art projects. Come and go as you like and bring your imagination. - Bingo for Books - Tuesday, April 22 and May 20 at 4:30 pm

Teen Zone is a program is for those in grades 6-12 and features a variety of activities. Get creative and express yourself by exploring, designing, and experimentation with crafts and S.T.E.A.M. activities.

Hoopla -- Instantly borrow free digital movies, music, ebooks, digital audiobooks, TV shows, and comic books with your library card. 24/7 availability of hundreds of thousands of items, no holds. Five checkouts per library card per month. Did we mention it’s free?
Explora -- Explore hundreds of topics in thousands of magazines, encyclopedias, journals, and videos. EBSCO Explora is a great resource to find articles and information for school reports, projects, and more. Provided by the Library of VA.
Homework HelpNow -- Connect LIVE with a certified tutor, seven days a week between 2 and 11 pm, for help with assignments and research, including math, reading, writing, science, social studies, and more! Submit papers to a tutor in the Writing Lab for constructive feedback or take practice exams and create your own flashcards to prepare for tests. Tutoring is available in English and Spanish.
Transparent Language -- Transparent Language Online offers in-depth, self-paced classes that focus on reading, writing, listening, and speaking over +140 languages. Courses include various Indigenous languages, ASL, and ESL/ELL materials in 34 languages. Provided by the Library of VA.
